Jonathan
Velardi’s mixed media practice predominantly
focuses on print through digital and illustrative processes. He is interested
in working within the public realm in order to stimulate a dialogue between
non-traditional art audiences and incidental viewers. Exploring the boundaries
of his practice by placing his work beyond the physical and psychological
limitations of both gallery and institutional spaces, he takes inspiration from
actions and objects of the everyday and presents new narratives of identity through
notions of the decorative in the form of saturated and seductive patterns.
His interest in working with public spaces has lead to Public Art
commissions to produce animated billboards and wallpaper installations that
have incorporated projects with local communities and schools that contribute
to an extensive portfolio.
Since graduating from The Slade School of Fine Art, London in 2007, Velardi
continues to exhibit internationally as well as throughout the United Kingdom. Further
